I am currently a student at Cleveland College of art and design, studying Textiles and surface design. In November of 2011 I graduated the contemporary textiles course also at Cleveland College of art and design. My work is mostly fashion illustration based; I love to experiment with colour and different media such as pencils, inks, crayons collage and Photoshop. For my final show I have been sponsored by Madeira threads who have supplied my with embroidery threads the use in the work I will be producing for my degree show, which will be very detailed and hand embroidered illustrations. When I graduate I want to pursue my love of illustration and become a freelance illustrator.

Finding harmony and balance within colour to create an interesting piece of art work with the only purpose to brighten up your interior living space.
From the dull grey concrete buildings to worn purpose built objects, inspiration can be found anywhere.
I especially love to incorporate old buildings that have been neglected and inject them with colour to create something unique and beautiful.
The aim of my work is to abolish people’s fear of colour and brighten up mundane living spaces.

I showed an interest in Art from a very early age and I have developed a great passion for Textiles and Surface Design, particularly with Interiors. This is where I would like to pursue a career designing for wallpapers and furnishing fabrics.

I have developed a highly detailed, tight drawing style which allows me to achieve beautiful, highly informative observational drawings similar to those seen in designs by high end companies that I am very much inspired by. I love to experiment with media such as watercolour, pencils and fine liners, and I have recently secured a sponsorship opportunity with Derwent pencils. I enjoy experimenting with a variety of silk-screen print techniques to create my designs as well as producing hand-rendered designs.

For my FMP, I will be producing a collection of hand painted and screen printed wallpaper designs

I am currently studying Textiles and Surface Design at Cleveland College of Art and Design (an excellent course) and live in North East Yorkshire. I specialise in print and am producing hand printed wallpaper designs for my final major project. My theme is Country Estate which derives from the current Heritage trend. Ideally I want to become a fashion designer for printed textiles; because this is the area of my course I have enjoyed the most. I have also completed several work experience placements, in which I got to attend meetings involving selling and buying textile designs with-in the fashion industry, which I really enjoyed.
